TADALAFIL

Tadalafil belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitors and work similar to Sildenafil, the generic name for Viagra.

Tadalafil is used to treat male sexual function problems such as impotence or erectile dysfunction-ED. In combination with sexual stimulation, tadalafil works by increasing blood flow to the penis to help a man get and keep an erection.

ED is a condition where the penis does not fill with enough blood to harden and expand when a man is sexually excited, or when he cannot keep an erection. Tadalafil helps increase blood flow to the penis and may help men with ED get and keep an erection satisfactory for sexual activity. Once a man has completed sexual activity, blood flow to his penis decreases, and his erection goes away.

Some form of sexual stimulation is needed for an erection to happen with Tadalafil.

Tadalafil does not:

  • Cure ED

  • Increase a man's sexual desire

  • Protect a man or his partner from sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV.

Tadalafil is only for men over the age of 18, including men with diabetes or who have undergone prostatectomy. An alternative or substitute to Tadalafil is Sildenafil (the generic name for Viagra), our doctor will help you decide which medication is best for you.

Fact: You are not alone, mild and moderate erectile dysfunction affects approximately 10 percent of men per decade of life: i.e., 50 percent of men in their 50s, 60 percent of men in their 60s, etc.

Fun fact, phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitors have many other healthy uses including helping patients with pulmonary hypertension. It works by relaxing blood vessels in the chest. This increases the blood supply to the lungs and reduces the workload of the heart. Research continues on PDE5's, we'll keep you posted!
